Nicole, mother of a young nine year old daughter named Kelanie, owns a single family home built in 1996 in Glendale, Arizona and both believe it to be haunted. According to Nicole when Kelanie was between the ages of 3 to 6 years old she witnessed her daughter playing and talking to an imaginary friend who she called Grace. Nicole states that Grace was the name of her sister’s stillborn child which would be Kelanie’s cousin. Now, Nicole states that her daughter doesn’t talk to Grace anymore, but that her daughter claims to see two different older looking women in her bedroom mirror and she has seen a women standing next to the telephone in the living room when no one else was home. Also, there have been toy that would go off with no explanation.
West Coast Ghost and Paranormal Society started our investigation into the possible haunting at this private residence on February 16, 2008. Our investigation began at 9:00 p.m. and continued until two a.m. We were able to debunk the claims of the two older looking women in the daughter bedroom mirror. The mirror was covered with smudges and if seen in the right light there appears to be a figure in it. Car lights passing by the daughter’s bedroom window gives off reflections that can play tricks on the eyes. Also, we found high EMF readings in Nicole bedroom; which could account for someone’s feeling that they are being watched plus can cause hallucinations.
Our review of audio, photo and video acquired during the investigation did reveal two EVP’s caught on our audio that appears to be a male voice responding with the answer, “No” when asked questions, “Are you here to protect the family”? And “Was that you speaking to us”? During the investigation one of our investigators claims to have seen a shadow figure in Nicole’s bedroom, but we were unable to capture it on video.
Based on our findings we can say that there is some paranormal activity at this location, but there is not enough evidence to support the claim of it being haunted.
