Phoenix Residence, AZ

Amanda, a young woman in her twenties, lives with her roommate in a condo in Phoenix, Arizona. Both believe they have paranormal activity centered on the sliding glass door at the rear of the residence. Amanda claims that when she and her roommate leave the condo, the sliding glass door is locked and dead-bolted, but when they return they find the door wide open. This finding occurs when both have left the home and the dog, Noah, is left there alone. Amanda and her roommate are the only two people who own a key to the condo, and the patio is behind a side gate which is always locked; including all occasions when they found the glass door open. Additionally, Amanda states that before buying the condo, her mother went upstairs to what in now the roommate’s bedroom and the light bulb separated from the ceiling fan and crashed to the floor. She adds that her mom states that she did not touch the light or the fan.
Amanda suspects her condo is haunted by her roommate’s deceased grandmother. Amanda says the grandmother was very close to the dog when she was alive, and believes the grandmother is opening up the glass door for Noah because the dog likes to be outside.
West Coast Ghost and Paranormal Society started our investigation into the possible haunting at this private residence on February 01, 2008. Our investigation began at 10:00 p.m. and continued until two a.m. We found high EMF readings throughout the home; which could account for someone’s feeling that they are being watched plus visual and auditory hallucinations. We tested the lock and the door in question and were unable to duplicate or force the door to open.
Our review of audio, photo and video acquired during the investigation did not reveal any evidence of a haunting. Based on our findings, we cannot say that there is any paranormal activity at this location.
According to Amanda during a follow-up interview, the sliding glass door was still opening on its own.
