LaMore Hotel/Bisbee Inn

Bisbee, AZ

Investigated 1/12/08

The LaMore Hotel/Bisbee Inn located in Bisbee, Arizona is famous for claims of paranormal activity from guests and staff alike. Bisbee is an old mining town and the hotel was used for many purposes, including lodging for many of the miners at the height of the Copper Rush. Claims include the spirit of an old woman dressed in white roaming the hotel, but mostly in room 13 now 23. There is also a ghost cat in this room that lies next to guests while they are sleeping; it’s purring awakens them. The Blue Room has a “presence” that can be felt and indentations on the bed. An old woman looks down at people lying in bed in the “Grandma Room”. A ghost named “Abigail” haunts Room 12 (the Green Room) where guests claim they smell lavender. Room 7 is visited by a prostitute named “Michelle” who was reportedly killed saving people in a rock slide. Lastly, heavy footsteps are heard in the hallway. We arrived earlier in the day to set up our equipment and conduct interviews with the staff. The owner Brena Mercer and son were available for questions and showed us some pictures taken by guests. We also reviewed the guestbook for any comments and these were noted and assisted with our investigation that night. We went lights out and started the investigation around 9pm. While debunking, we found the walls were extremely thin, could hear voices from other rooms along with noise outside. One investigator walked on the sidewalk outside the hotel while another sat in a second story room with the window closed and the footsteps sounded as if coming from the hallway. There was a stray cat that meowed outside the window of Room 23. We closed the investigation around 3:00am and broke down all of the equipment. We reviewed the evidence the rest of the night and early morning in shifts and presented the evidence to the owner, Brena the next morning. Couple of personal experiences – Room 7 there were phantom smells and a bed vibrating noticed by two investigators. In Room 2 two female investigators noticed a cold spot and changes in temperature by 10+. EVP’s where found while reviewing: First sounds like “see here” in a whispered tone, second most likely a male voice saying something close to “there’s hope” (no males in the room at time recorded) and third an investigator asks entity to “talk normally for me” and receives an answer back which is inaudible but appears to be close to the microphone. She was in a room by herself while being monitored from command center with the DVR system. (All three not heard at the time, only at review later.) Based on our findings, there appears to be some activity that can be classified as paranormal, but not enough to say it’s haunted.

(This is an EVP that one of our investigators caught in Room 13 and after phase analysis, it appears to be coming from just a few inches from the microphone. The investigator at the time did not hear anything while it was being recorded and she was being monitored on camera from our command center)

(This EVP was captured while investigating Room 2 at the Hotel LaMore in Bisbee, AZ)
