Café de Manuel Restaurant

Case Grande, Arizona

11/10/2007

Diane, the manager at Café de Manuel Restaurant; 1300 North Pinal Avenue, Casa Grande, Arizona, and her staff suspect they’re restaurant is haunted. These suspicions have grown from witnessing unexplained events such as knives that fall from a magnetic board and objects that fall from the top shelf in a utility room. Additionally, Diane states that several patrons sitting on the patio have seen what they describe as a phantom dog walking through the enclosed area. The same witnesses believe that some apparitions from the properties past have also been seen.
Originally, this property was a house that was later converted into a 7-11 convenient store. While the convenient store was in operation, a robbery took place and a clerk was murdered. Witnesses in the restaurant claim to have seen an apparition of the clerk as well as the old woman who owned the house before it was converted.
West Coast Ghost and Paranormal Society began our investigation into the possible haunting of the Café de Manuel Restaurant on Nov. 10, 2007. Our investigation began at 9:30 p.m. and continued until one a.m. In the kitchen and utility areas we found high EMF readings; which could account for someone’s feeling that they are being watched. But as for the objects falling from the shelf, we conclude that these objects, which are stored near the edge of the shelf, could easily be knocked over with a small bump against the adjacent wall. Regarding the sightings of a phantom dog on the patio, our investigation concluded that this patio, with its window placements, allows for unique shadows and reflections from passing cars.
During the investigation, our investigators report no unusual or unexplained personal experiences. Also, our review of the audio, photo and video acquired during the investigation did not reveal any evidence of a haunting. Based on our findings, we cannot say that there is any paranormal activity at this location.
